May you inherit the parts of womanhood they told you could never exist inside the same woman.
From Lilith, may you inherit your refusal.
The ability to say no without writing a dissertation explaining why. The courage to leave the table.
May you be sensual without being owned.
Beautiful without being obedient.
Sexual without being reduced to sex.
May you know that there is nothing inherently dangerous about a woman who belongs to herself.
And from Eve, may you inherit your softness.
Your curiosity. Your capacity to love deeply. Your desire to create, nurture, build, and experience life with your whole heart.
May you still want love.
May you still believe in partnership.
May you allow someone trustworthy to know you.
Because perhaps the greatest lie women have been sold is that we must choose.
The good woman or the bad woman.
The wife or the siren.
The mother or the femme fatale.
The intellectual or the beauty.
But I don’t believe womanhood was ever supposed to be that small.
Believe in Duality
You can be glamorous and grounded.
Soft and discerning.
Nurturing and selfish when necessary.
Independent and still desire partnership.
You can enjoy being desired without making male desire the measure of your worth.
You can love deeply without disappearing.
You can be Eve without surrendering Lilith and be Lilith without abandoning Eve.
There are seasons when Lilith may need to speak louder.
When you need boundaries. When you need solitude. When you need to remember that access to you is a privilege and that loneliness is preferable to abandoning yourself for companionship.
And there are seasons when Eve may whisper, “You can soften here“.
You can receive.
You can create.
You can love.
You can let beauty matter.
Neither woman needs to destroy the other.
Perhaps maturity is learning when each one is needed.
So may you be the daughter of Lilith and Eve.
May you inherit the rebellion and the tenderness.
The boundary and the invitation.
The sensuality and the sacredness.
The independence and the capacity for devotion.
May you never confuse softness with submission or strength with emotional exile.
May you never amputate pieces of yourself just to become easier for someone else to understand.
And when the world asks you which kind of woman you are, may you never feel obligated to choose.
May you have the courage to be Lilith when you need to belong to yourself.
And the softness to be Eve when you feel safe enough to open your heart.
May you be both.
